Employees who are required to supervise other employees are paid a supervision allowance.

Employees are paid the allowance on a weekly basis, regardless of the number of hours they work during the week. The amount of the allowance depends on the number of employees being supervised.

To find out the amount of the allowance, use our Pay and Conditions Tool.

The allowance isn’t paid if an employee takes sick leave for an entire week, because they haven’t worked any shifts.

Example

Maiko is a full-time Security officer level 2. She supervises 3 employees each week and is paid a weekly supervision allowance.

Maiko works a 2 week roster cycle and is rostered Monday to Friday in both Week 1 and Week 2.

On Thursday in Week 1, Maiko is unwell and goes to the doctor. The doctor directs her not to work for the rest of the roster cycle.

Maiko is paid the full amount of the supervision allowance for Week 1 however she isn’t paid supervision allowance for week 2 as she was on sick leave for the entire week.
