Apprentices are paid a percentage of the minimum weekly rate and certain allowances.
The percentage they get may depend on:
- the apprentice’s age when they started the apprenticeship
- when they started their apprenticeship
- the year of the apprenticeship they are in
- whether they have completed Year 12.
This percentage is calculated on the:
- minimum weekly rate for an Electrical worker grade 5
- electrician’s licence allowance
- industry allowance.
Apprentices are also paid the full amount of the tool allowance.
These payments make up their weekly all purpose rate.
