Award coverage for a door-to-door salesperson depends on whether the goods are sold by retail or wholesale.
Retail Award
The Retail Award covers door-to-door salespeople where the goods or services are sold directly to the customer for personal, household or business use. This is regardless of whether they’re employed by:
- the company that supplies the goods or service, or
- a company selling goods or services on behalf of another company.
Goods or services sold by a door-to-door salesperson in the Retail Award can include:
- energy contracts
- energy-efficient products
- solar panels
- gas contracts.
Commercial Sales Award
The Commercial Sales Award is an occupational award covering door-to-door salespeople who solicit orders from and sell articles and goods to customers for:
- wholesale sale
- resale
- use in connection with the production, preparation and distribution of commodities for sale by the customer.
