Shiftwork - other than baking and production employees
For an employee (other than a baking production employee) shiftwork means a shift starting at or after 6pm on one day and before 5am on the next day.
Monday to Friday work
Casual shiftworkers get paid 155% of their minimum hourly rate for shiftwork between midnight Sunday and midnight Friday. This rate includes their casual loading.
Saturday work
Casual shiftworkers get paid 175% of their minimum hourly rate for all shiftwork on Saturday. This rate includes their casual loading.
Sunday work
Casual shiftworkers get paid 200% of their minimum hourly rate for all shiftwork on Sunday. This rate includes their casual loading.
Public holiday work
Casual shiftworkers get paid 250% of their minimum hourly rate for all work on a public holiday. This rate includes their casual loading.
Shiftwork - baking production employees
For a baking production employee, shiftwork means a shift starting at or after midnight and before 6am.
Monday to Friday
Early morning work
Casual baking shiftworkers that start a shift at or after 2am and before 6am get paid 137.5% of their minimum hourly rate for the shift. This rate includes their casual loading.
Night work
Casual baking shiftworkers that start a shift before 2am get paid 155% of their minimum hourly rate for the shift. This rate includes their casual loading.
Saturday, Sunday and public holiday work
Baking production employees get the same penalties as other shiftworkers for working on:
- Saturdays
- Sundays
- public holidays.
