Casuals get overtime when they work:
- outside the spread of hours
- more than 10 hours a day
- more than an average of 38 hours a week.
When a casual works overtime, they get paid:
- 175% of the ordinary hourly rate for the first 2 hours
- 225% of the ordinary hourly rate after 2 hours.
The overtime rates for casuals include the 25% casual loading.
What is the spread of hours?
Ordinary hours can be worked between:
- 6am - 6pm, Monday to Friday
- 6am - 12pm, Saturday.
