There are penalty rates in the Funeral Award for working on:

• Saturday
• Sunday
• public holidays.

When a casual gets paid penalty rates they also get paid their casual loading.

The penalty rates and casual loading are both calculated on their minimum hourly rate.

What is the minimum payment for casuals?

Casuals get paid for a minimum of 4 hours work each time they're required to attend work. This is paid even if they work less than 4 hours.

What if they work less than 4 hours on the weekend?

The 4 hour minimum shift payment applies. Relevant weekend penalty rates apply.
