Full-time and part-time employees
The guaranteed minimum fortnightly payment for full-time employees is the minimum weekly rate for their classification multiplied by 2.
The guaranteed minimum payment for part-time employees is the minimum weekly rate for a full-time employee divided by 38 and multiplied by the part-time employee’s number of ordinary hours for the week.
Employees are entitled to this payment if they’re ready, willing and able to work.
It must be paid each fortnight.
This minimum payment also applies to cents per kilometre drivers.
Casual employees
Each time a casual employee works, they’re entitled to a guaranteed minimum payment for:
- 500km, if they’re paid by the cents per kilometre method
- 8 hours, if they’re paid hourly driving rates.
