An income protection insurance policy provides payments to employees who are off work due to a non-work related illness or injury.

Does annual leave and sick leave accumulate if an employee is getting paid income protection?

No. Absences from work while getting income protection insurance don’t count as service for the purpose of accumulating leave.

This is the case regardless of whether the policy was taken out by the employee or the employer.
