What a casual gets paid when working overtime depends on when the overtime is worked.

Monday to Saturday

When casuals work overtime Monday to Saturday, they get paid:

  • 175% of the minimum hourly rate for the first 2 hours
  • 225% of the minimum hourly rate after 2 hours.

The overtime rates for casuals include the 25% casual loading.

Sunday and public holidays

When casuals work overtime on Sunday or public holidays, they get paid:

  • 200% of the minimum hourly rate on a Sunday
  • 250% of the minimum hourly rate on a public holiday.

Casuals don’t get paid their casual loading when they work overtime on a Sunday or a public holiday.
