What does a single contract hourly rate employee get paid?

They get paid 115% of the minimum hourly rate for every hour of work. This rate is paid instead of separate penalty rates for working:

  • on weekends
  • overtime
  • on rostered days off.

They get all other entitlements in the award. For example, public holiday penalties.

Can a single contract hourly rate employee be engaged as a casual?

Yes. Casual single contract hourly rate employees get paid:

  • 115% of the minimum hourly rate
  • plus a casual loading of 25% of the minimum hourly rate.

Both of these amounts are paid for every hour they work.
