An employee engaged as a concierge in a office or residential building is typically engaged in the following duties:

  • meeting and greeting building guests
  • organising trades, repairs and deliveries or mail as required
  • maintaining records of building tenants
  • distributing keys, passes and other access to tenants.

The Miscellaneous Award covers employees performing these duties in a residential or office building.

They’re classified based on their qualifications, experience and duties.

Concierge security officers

Employees may also be employed as concierge security officers. In addition to the main duties of a concierge in an office or residential building, concierge security officers may also perform some security duties. The Miscellaneous Award covers Concierge security officers.

Example

Sasha is a concierge security officer and is employed by Gorilla Property Group, a residential building developer. She has been employed for 6 months.

Her day to day work includes greeting visitors and assisting with general enquiries at the building’s reception. When required, she also monitors the CCTV system and responds to basic fire or security alarms.

Sasha is covered by the Miscellaneous Award and is classified as a Level 2.
