Award coverage for employees of a combined café and retail business depends on:
- the employer’s main industry
- the employees’ duties.
The Retail Award covers employees working for a business that’s mainly a shop, with a café as a small part. For example, a bookshop with a café in it.
The Restaurant Award covers employees working for a business which mainly serves dine-in food and coffee, but also sells some products. An example is a café that sells coffee beans for home use.
